Accomplishments:
I have worked alone and with
other Designers in the implementation of cabling both fiber and copper to
shopping centers/housing developments in Columbia, SC. I have designed the
placement of new Multiplexers and brought both feeder and distribution
into the box to serve businesses and residents. I have worked with developers
/vendors/ATT support staff to complete work in order to provide service to
residential and industrial communities though out the Wire center that I was
assigned to.
I was Responsible for one of
South Carolina’s Largest Routes, keeping service orders up to date and
attending to them as needed. Cabling new subdivisions with copper and Fidl
MX. Working with property owners, developers, building contractors, State and
county road depts. Obtaining Permits as required.

property records at county courthouses for acquisition of right of way from
customers.

worked on the FTTP Project in South Carolina. My responsibilities included
checking the cross boxes for adequate binding posts, vacant binding posts.
Etc. I did house counts to see who was fed from which terminal in order to
update records and later design the 2 pairs per house that the FTTP Project
required.

am qualified to do BICS work although I am not certified. I have worked with
many developers and owners to get cable into buildings, from mini malls to
high rise buildings.

Duties: I was assigned to an
on premis office of Bellsouth in Columbia, S.C. where I was a route engineer
in charge of one of the largest wire centers in Columbia. I worked
service orders, EHAB orders, new construction, both copper and fiber for
residential and commercial property. I learned and used FIDL and FIDLMX for
some projects in major subdivisions. I also worked on a large outlet mall
that had both retail and condominiums within it. I was in charge of making
sure the support structure for Bellsouth’s cable was in place in many commercial
buildings. I went to pre construction meetings with the construction company
as the development continued to grow. I have also done the following in this
position: willserves, makeready, road moves, and permitting, I ordered and
implemented the Mesa cabinet that fed the complex.

service orders from the company engineers so that they could handle their
areas. I worked closely with contractors that were building new businesses
and residential homes to make sure that the support structure was in place
for Bellsouth’s cable placement. I coordinated the timing between the
contractor and Bellsouth’s construction crew to meet a time when the customer
wanted service and to hit that date. It was my responsibility to find out
where the customer would be served. Take the field notes, design the job on
BSTCAD and issue the job to construction.

plant would maintain the correct heights from other utilities according to
the NEC. I did heavy permitting for this project for the city, county, and
state.
